International Trumpet soloist, Nathaniel Mayfield, ASPVA
's Director of Music and native Austinite, also performs at
An Evening of Art. Nathaniel is a graduate of The Juilliard
School/Columbia University as well as Interlochen Arts
Academy. He is a Fulbright Scholar and the recipient of a
1994 Presidential Scholarship in the Arts.
The Austin School for the Performing and Visual
Arts will provide an environment which
promotes academic success, exposes students
to the variety of artistic endeavors, and
challenges students to continue to develop and
perfect their unique talents
Some students of The Austin School for the
Performing and Visual Arts will go on to attain
worldwide fame as artists. Other students will
become teachers of future artists while some
students will pursue professional careers in
other areas. Regardless of their chosen path in
life, the opportunities to explore the arts to
develop their individual talents will serve to
enrich their experiences throughout their lives.

Welcome to The Austin School for the Performing and Visual Arts (ASPVA),
a non-profit organization created to serve children in the Austin area gifted in the
performing and visual arts. ASPVA will be implemented in three phases:
- ASPVA is currently offering dance classes for all levels as part of Phase I.
Opportunities to perform on a competitive level available for students on level
3 and 4.
- Phase II will begin fall 2008, when master classes in the arts and unique
wellness activities including a performance jump rope team will be offered
through Connections, an outreach program created for 1st – 12th graders,
- on-site in partnering schools.
- Ultimately, ASPVA will unveil a private school offering a full-academic
curriculum, a world class arts education and daily wellness program in Phase
III for 6th – 12th grade. The development of ASPVA is in accordance with
accreditation standards.
