ASPVA’s innovative Singer-Songwriter program brings together essential music fundamentals in order to achieve the highest level of preparation for students seeking a professional career. 

Students accepted into the Singer-Songwriter program will take part in:

  • Singer-songwriter composition studio class
  • Music theory and ear training

The ASPVA Voice curriculum is designed for students seeking to increase their musical knowledge and/or the ability to play a musical instrument and sing. ASPVA will provide ensemble coaching, music classes, and a variety of real-world performance opportunities. Coursework may include:
  • Music Theory
  • Songwriting
  • Music Arranging
  • Ear Training
  • Music History
  • Recording Arts


The ASPVA guitar program offers a strong foundation in classical guitar so that students will learn essential ensemble skills, rhythmic integrity, artistic sensitivity, dynamic contrast and proper posture. In addition to these fundamentals, the ASPVA guitar program also includes a structured exposure to more contemporary/acoustic-based chords, scales, and melodic themes as a way to enhance compositional skills and concert technique.
